Key Chain

This unique Key Chain is a snap to make, but it looks really cool. Take your time looking through your wine corks to find the one with the best graphics, and then see if you can find a charm that relates to it somehow. These are easy to personalize for quick but thoughtful gifts.

You will need:

* 1 small jump ring (1⁄4")

* 1 charm

* 1 (3⁄8") screw eye

* 1 cork with interesting writing or graphics

* 1 split key ring

* 1 (1⁄2") screw eye

  1. Open the jump ring and thread on the charm. Thread the jump ring through the eye of the smaller screw eye and close the jump ring securely.

  2. Screw the charm section into whichever end of the cork is going to be the “bottom” of the key chain.
  3. Garner all of your strength and spread apart the opening of the split key ring. It will take a little bit of effort, but thread it through the hole in the larger screw eye.
  4. Screw the screw eye into the center of the top of the cork and you’re done!

Be Flexible and Have Fun!

Don’t have both specific sizes of screw eyes? Eh, don’t worry about it. Use some that are the same size, or larger than what I specified, or smaller. As long as it gets the job done, who cares? What I’m getting at here is that crafting should be fun. I make up projects based on what I have laying around. It’s just crafting—relax, improvise, and most of all—have fun with it!

What Are a Wine’s Legs?

When you swirl a glass of wine, little streams of wine fall back down the sides of the glass. These are the legs. They have nothing to do with quality. Wines with better legs generally have higher alcohol contents.
