ABOUT THE AUTHORS

ROBERT C. SOLOMON is internationally renowned as a teacher and lecturer in philosophy. He is the Quincy Lee Centennial Professor of Philosophy and Distinguished Teaching Professor at the University of Texas at Austin. He has written numerous books, including From Hegel to Existentialism and The Passions: Emotions and the Meaning of Life.

KATHLEEN M. HIGGINS lectures internationally on philosophy and aesthetics. She is professor of philosophy at the University of Texas at Austin and the author of Nietzsche’s Zarathustra and Comic Relief: Nietzsche’s Gay Science.

Together, Solomon and Higgins have published A Short History of Philosophy, A Passion for Wisdom: A Very Brief History of Philosophy, and Reading Nietzsche. They have also released, on audio- and videotape, a series of lectures titled The Will to Power: The Philosophy of Friedrich Nietzsche (The Teaching Company).
