SUCCULENT RING

Forget diamonds. Succulents are a girl’s best friend! A succulent ring is the perfect accessory to show off your green thumb. This unusual piece will garner compliments wherever you go.

WHAT YOU NEED

WHAT TO DO

  1. Cut the stems off of your plants. Try to cut them as close to the lower leaves as possible while keeping the rosettes intact.
  2. Cover the flat surface of your ring bezel with floral glue.

  3. Gently press your plants onto your ring bezel.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

Your succulents will not be able to survive too long glued to your ring bezel. (Depending on the type of plant, it could last from a few weeks to a month or two.) Once your plants begin to shrivel, carefully remove them and glue on fresh succulents. Floral glue is kind of like rubber cement, so it peels off easily—you should end up with a clean base again. After removing your plants from your ring, gently remove any glue that may be on the lower leaves, place them on top of well-draining soil, and water them occasionally. New roots may sprout if your plant is not damaged too badly by the glue and removal process.

TIP!

Be sure you let your tiny plants callus over for a day or two before gluing them to your ring bezel. This will help your plants absorb less of the glue through the fresh cut, which should help it to last longer.
