LIVING NECKLACE
Here’s another accessory option that’s easy to make but looks stunning. Not only are the baby succulents absolutely adorable, but people will be astonished when they realize you are wearing living plants around your neck!
WHAT YOU NEED
- Scissors
- Necklace Cord or Chain
- Pendant Bezel, approximately 11⁄4"
- Floral Glue
- Moss
- Pencil or similar pointy tool
- Baby Succulents
WHAT TO DO
- Use your scissors to cut the stems of your baby plants a little shorter than the depth of your bezel.
- Coat the inside of your bezel with floral glue and press in your moss. Allow a few minutes to dry.
- Use a pencil or other pointy tool to create a little hole in the moss where you will place the stem of your first succulent.
- Carefully hold your baby plant, stem facing up. Squeeze your floral glue onto the lower leaves of the plant, taking care not to cover the stem with glue, as this is where roots will eventually sprout from.
- Decide where to place your plant and gently press it into the moss. Repeat steps 3, 4, and 5 until you have placed all of your desired plants into your bezel.
- Attach a necklace cord or chain to your bezel.
CARE INSTRUCTIONS
Mist the moss every few days to encourage roots to form on the stems of your plants. Your necklace should last anywhere from a few weeks to a few months, depending on the types of plants you choose. Certain succulents may be more sensitive to the floral glue and will not root. If your plant does not start to root, simply remove it when it begins to wither and replace it with a new plant.
