About the Author

Lee A. Dew retired from Kentucky Wesleyan College in 1994 after teaching history for nearly 40 years. He holds degrees from the University of Arkansas, Kansas State, and Louisiana State.

He is the author of 10 published books and more than 50 articles, many of which deal with issues surrounding agriculture.

A member of the Kentucky Humanities Council’s Speakers Bureau, he gives talks throughout the Commonwealth on the subject of Kentucky barbecue and ‘Agriculture: Kentucky’s Least-Known Resource.”

He is the father of three grown children. His wife, Aloma W. Dew, is also a historian and serves as chairperson of the Kentucky Environmental Quality Commission.
