Positive Attitude

It was late Monday morning when the young Marine finally regained consciousness. He found himself in agonizing pain in the base hospital’s ICU, with tubes up every fundamental orifice, wires monitoring every function, and a gorgeous nurse hovering over him. He remembered he’d been in a hell of a firefight a few days prior, but had no idea how he got to where he was at that moment, or how bad his injuries were.

The nurse gave the combat Marine a serious, deep look straight into the eyes, and he heard her slowly say, “You may not feel anything from the waist down.”

The little twitch in his pants reminded him that he’d been in combat a really long time and it had been far too long since he’d seen a female. Somehow, despite the heavy painkillers that made him woozy, he managed to mumble in reply, “Well then, can I feel your tits?”

And that, God bless him, is what is called a positive attitude!

The birth of a child should be the most joyous moment in a young couple’s life. But when one of them is serving overseas in a combat zone, there is very real fear that something might happen to snatch that joy away.
