REST YOUR EYES

With your smartphone, computer, TV, and tablet, your eyes are constantly glued to a screen (it’s not your fault: those chemistry reports aren’t going to write themselves—though wouldn’t that be great…). Between using all of these electronics, it is important to take frequent breaks to rest your eyes. This will help avoid eyestrain or dry or red eyes. You can take this break by simply closing your eyes briefly in the middle of a work session, or by using the 20-20-20 rule (look at something 20 feet away every 20 minutes for 20 seconds). Adjust the brightness on your computer as well, and use night-vision settings if possible; you can also wear blue-light-blocking glasses to help reduce eyestrain. If you do find you’re spending endless hours indoors huddled in front of your laptop, head outside for a quick pause in a different visual surrounding. Final exams aren’t going anywhere, but your eyesight might if you don’t protect it!
