Chaplains exist on campus to help you explore opportunities and resources related to spiritual development—whether you practice a religious tradition or not. Consider them an extra person in your circle of support: a spiritual mentor who can help you thrive at school. And you can go to a college chaplain for just about anything—not just a religious issue. You can visit a chaplain to vent in confidence about a difficult situation, to ask for help during a tough personal time, or to learn more about social justice or service groups (both faith-based and secular). Chaplains may also be able to provide assistance in navigating the different administrative elements of college, too, and put you in touch with other campus services that you didn’t even realize existed. So, schedule a visit with your own chaplain, or pop in during open office hours to chat.
