HELP SOMEONE

One hallmark of a meaningful life is being kind to others. It’s not just about being a good person: being kind and helping people makes a difference in other lives too. And it creates a sense of purpose in your own life. In fact, helping people is good for your health all around; it releases endorphins in your brain, reduces stress, increases positive feelings, and promotes social connections. It doesn’t have to be a big gesture, either—you can hold the door open for another student on campus, pick up an extra sandwich for your roommate, or text your younger sibling to have a great weekend. These acts of kindness make a real difference, and inspire the people you helped to pay it forward. Maybe seeing you hold the door open encourages other students to start doing the same more often, instead of tuning out the people around them as they go to and from class.
