College is about more than memorizing information, building your resume, and getting that A. It’s a unique time in your life where you have full permission (and the tools needed) to pursue knowledge in a wide variety of topics. Cultivating curiosity and a love of learning is crucial to getting the most out of your college experience while also developing marketable skills and gaining exposure to the professional world you will soon be joining.
Pay attention to what sparks your own curiosity—and explore it! If you like learning new things in science class, or enjoy musing over questions about different religions, follow those interests. Maybe you’re obsessed with successful news anchors, and love listening to podcasts. Over time, those interests could translate into a career in media!
Soon enough, you’ll be off on the next adventure in your life, so view college as your time to really think about what excites you, test those things out, talk about them with others, and find purposeful work.
