Map 32

Palisades is one of DC’s overlooked neighborhoods—oh-so-quiet and with a mix of modest to magnificent homes, some with fantastic views of the Potomac. A smattering of local shops line MacArthur Boulevard, including essentials like the adorable Palisades Post Office. Battery Kemble Park is an often overlooked treasure, with expansive grassy hills and running/walking trail access, but picnickers beware, the spot is popular with local dog owners as a place for an off-leash romp. Across the river in Virginia, it’s an outdoor wonderland of nature parks, hiking trails, and fishing holes.
