What You’ll Need: clear base and top coat; white nail polish; red nail polish; black nail polish or acrylic paint; fine-tipped brush
1. Apply a clear base coat.
2. Starting with your pinky, apply two coats of white polish on every other nail. On the other nails, apply two coats of red polish.
3. On the red nails, use a fine-tipped brush to apply small white dots in a random pattern.
4. On one white nail on each hand, use a fine-tipped brush to paint Hello Kitty’s bow on the top right part of the nail. (See this page.)
5. Once the bow has dried (about five minutes), use a fine-tipped brush and black polish or acrylic paint to outline the bow.
6. On the white nails, use a fine-tipped brush to apply red dots to the middle and pinky fingernails, but not to the thumbs, which is where Hello Kitty’s face will go.
7. On each thumbnail, use a fine-tipped brush and black polish or acrylic paint to draw two vertical ovals for the eyes and a horizontal oval centered between the eyes for the nose.
8. Using a fine-tipped brush, add the bow on the top right part of the nail. Once the bow has dried (about five minutes), use black polish or acrylic paint to add the outline of the bow and the whiskers.
9. Add a clear top coat to all nails.
