Curries in Durban, especially when served at a restaurant or club, are usually served with bananas and chutney. Not only does the flavour enhance the dish, but the fats in the milk or yoghurt neutralise the effects of chilli.
1 ripe banana
3 Tbsp fresh milk or 5 Tbsp plain yoghurt
Peel and slice the banana into rounds. Place the banana in a bowl and pour the milk or yoghurt over it. If using yoghurt, mix the ingredients together. Serve with any curry.
