Ingredients
Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
Salt to taste
1 tbsp of cider vinegar
1 bay leaf
1 tsp of dried thyme
8 cups of chicken broth or vegetable broth
3 minced garlic cloves
1 large coarsely chopped carrot
2 medium peeled and coarsely shredded potatoes
1 (about 8 cups) small head of shredded cabbage
1 finely chopped onion
6 oz of thinly sliced chicken sausage with apple
Preparations
1. Combine the vinegar, bay leaf, thyme, broth, garlic, carrot, potato, cabbage, onion, sausage, pepper and salt in your 4- to 6-quart slow cooker.
2. Cook with the lid on for 4 to 6 hours on HIGH, or for 5 to 7 hours on LOW, until vegetables are soft.
3. Remove the bay leave. Taste and adjust seasonings.
