Garage shelf
This shelf is 8 ft. long, but yours can be any length.

Rip the plywood top to width. Use a homemade saw guide and a circular saw, or a table saw, to cut the plywood for the 16-in.-wide top shelf.

Screw the framework together. Use all-purpose screws to secure the 1x8 back rim and 1x2 front rim to the 2x8 support block. Space the support blocks every 32 in.

Finish assembling the shelf. Install the plywood top, bottom shelf and the 1x2 and 1x3 lips. Use construction adhesive for added strength.

Secure the shelf to the wall. Use 4-in. lag or construction screws to secure the 1x8 back rim to the wall studs. Drive two screws into each stud—one high, one low.
