Few Apollo images have been reproduced more often than this color photo of James Irwin, the US flag, the Lunar Roving Vehicle (LRV, or “rover”), and LM Falcon during EVA 2, with Mount Hadley Delta in the background. Sunlight—which was reflected from mirrored tiles on the top of the TV camera—produced the bright rectangular pattern on the LRV’s high-gain antenna. The US flags on the rover’s fenders were made of Beta cloth.
