Tom Stafford and Alexei Leonov assemble one of two identical plaques commemorating the first international space docking, on July 17 in the Soyuz. The plaques, in English and Russian, had vertical edges mimicking the guides of the DM system and its attenuators. They were later presented to US President Gerald Ford and Soviet General Secretary Leonid Brezhnev.
