Five-Day Itineraries

Lisbon & Around

Base yourself in Portugal's fascinating capital and explore its Manueline architecture, fado houses and museums before heading out to the chocolate-box vistas of Sintra, the walled town of Óbidos and the monastery at Batalha. This entire itinerary is possible by public transport.

South Coast

Sand, seafood and surfing are the three S's that define Portugal's holiday coast. The Algarve is an incredibly popular destination among the British, but it's not all about Irish pubs and fish ‘n’ chips – there’s plenty of beauty and culture to discover, too.

10-Day Itinerary

Porto & Around

Wine is the theme of this tipsy itinerary, from the wine bars of Porto to the ancient lodges of Vila Nova de Gaia to the vineyards of the Unesco-listed Douro Valley. Three or four days in Porto can be followed by a week exploring the Douro.

Two-Week Itinerary

North to South

This odyssey from north to south takes in the vast majority of Portugal's major sights, including Lisbon, Porto and the Algarve. This journey is perfectly feasible by bus and train, but a hire car will, of course, speed things up considerably.
