Two

So, God created man in His own image, in the image of God created He him; male and female created He them.

“Now,” said God the Father. “We will create two sexes of Man—a male and a female—just like the other creatures You created to fill Earth, Son. We must have a male and a female in every species so they can procreate and multiply. We will begin with the male of the species,” Almighty God decided.

“Yes, Father, I understand. And what type beings will they be?” asked the Son, curious as to what would make the male and the female tick.

“They shall have Our character,” said Almighty God. “They shall be able to think like We do. Unlike the animals You created on Earth and in the sea, they shall also have emotions similar to Ours. This creature Man will be most like Us out of all creation,” explained God the Father, excitement and anticipation in His voice.

“So, Father,” interjected the Spirit of God. “Will the male Man look like this?” He asked, pulling a handful of atmosphere out of the Heavens, molding and shaping it. Then He handed the brightly shining mass to the Son.

“And when We place this small piece of gray matter here at the top, it will be the operating system or brain of the creature. We will take a piece of this red material and make a heart and place it right here in his chest. Finally, Father, We will place a piece of You, Your Spirit, into Man. Let’s see what We have,” said the Son.

The Divine Trio worked on Their latest creation to make it into their image. They added wisdom, knowledge, understanding, compassion, emotions, and choice.

“It is very important We give Man choice so he can use the brain We have given him. Now, let Us create more,” said Almighty God.

Jeremiah 1:5: Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.

God the Father, the Son, and the Spirit continued to work, creating male and female Man. Soon, Heaven was filled to the brim with the spirits of Man destined to fill Earth.

And God blessed them and said unto them, “Be fruitful and multiply, and replenish the Earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the Earth.”

“Father, just a moment. The atmosphere of Earth,” explained the Son, “is different from what We have here in Heaven. Man must be comprised of something that will allow them to survive the elements of Earth. Man is a Spirit being as We are. His spirit should be enclosed in a vessel for protection,” the Son finished.

“Let Us go down to the Earth to see what We can see,” suggested the Father.

So the Three descended to Earth to see what could be done about Their new challenge. Walking among the animals moving about Earth, They considered the outer shell protecting the animals’ insides. Touching the outer shell of one of the four-legged creatures, God the Father asked the Son, “How did You do this again?”

“Well, Father, remember You mentioned that Earth would have different seasons and these creatures would live in different areas of the Earth?” the Son asked. “I decided to create four seasons: autumn, winter, spring, and summer. These seasons will occur at different times on the Earth, beginning with spring, when the Earth is cold but the rays of the sun begin to heat the Earth. It is a time of seed sowing. During the summer, the sun is at its zenith and completely thaws out the Earth from the season of cold before the spring. Autumn is the time of harvesting when all the sown seeds come to their full fruit and can now be eaten. And winter is when the Earth goes back to sleep and rests until the cycle starts all over again,” the Son concluded.

The Father nodded His head in understanding.

“What about the coverings on these animals?” He asked, curious as to how They would fashion similar coverings for Man.

“Well, Father, although here in Eden the atmosphere is perfect and the seasons will remain the same, certain parts of the Earth will experience the changing of seasons on a regular basis. Some of the areas will be colder, some warmer than others. Other places on the Earth will experience extreme hot or extreme cold. I designed coverings, skins, to place on the animals according to the area of the Earth they will live in,” explained the Son.

“See that creature over there?” He said, pointing to a huge four-legged creature with a white coating. “Eventually, he will live where it is very cold most of the time. His skin will protect him from freezing in the cold temperatures,” He continued. “His skin is extremely thick and perfect for protecting Him from the elements.”

“Now look at that creature in the water,” He explained, pointing to a humongous gray creature swimming in a very large body of water. “The skin on that creature protects it from extremely cold temperatures in the water.”

“As for Man, they will have one type of skin to protect them from the atmosphere. His skin will not be as thick as the animals’ skin,” the Son continued. “This is what I have in mind.”

The Son squatted down on the Earth and drew a figure in the sand. Instead of one dimension, though, He molded the figure in three dimensions allowing the Trio to see how this creature would appear.

The Son pulled one of the male Man spirits from the Heavens and instructed him, “Adam, lay down here on the Earth.” The Spirit Man obeyed without hesitation.

Looking at His drawing, the Son took some of the Earth and molded it over the Man’s top section. As He molded it, He created eyes to see, ears to hear, a nose to smell, a mouth to taste and communicate, and hair to protect the scalp of the head. He added a chin to give the face character. The Son carefully, lovingly molded the dust of the Earth around the male Man.

“Now, for the body,” He continued. “The male Man must have strong shoulders enabling him to bear burdens for others. Two strong arms with equally strong hands attached to create, to hold, and to work with. A strong chest to hold the heart inside the ribs which is the foundation of his strength; the ribs will hold all the organs essential for him to live on the Earth.”

The Son continued to fashion the human body with the approval of the Father and the Spirit. “A waist meant for bowing, knees meant for bending, feet made for walking.” By the time He finished, the Son had covered the entire spirit Man with a shell that would protect his inner-man from the elements.

“Are We missing anything, Father? Spirit?” He asked the Two watching His every move. They wanted to make the Man perfect in every way.

“Spirit,” commanded the Father, “breathe life into his nostrils.” When the Spirit complied, Man became a living soul.

“Hello, Father,” said the newly-created Man, sitting up to observe his surroundings. “Where am I?” he inquired.

“You are on the Earth, My child. The Son, the Spirit, and I decided that in order for you to go forth and multiply and be fruitful on the Earth, We had to give you some extra things you would need to be able to function on the Earth,” God the Father explained.

“I feel different,” said the Man, looking down at his body.

“Come over here,” instructed the Son, “and let Me show you something.” He led the Man to a pool of water. “Look down there.”

Adam bent over at the waist to examine the water. He jerked his body upright.

“What is that?” he asked anxiously. Peeping cautiously into the water, the face peered up at him again.

“That is you, Child,” explained the Son. “Your reflection. That is how you will appear to others like you.”

“But You do not look like that, Father. You are clear. Even though I can see your shape, I can also see straight through You,” he intoned, worried because he didn’t see the image of the Father in the water.

“Don’t worry, Adam. You are the image of Me where it counts the most—inside. We had to design a vessel of flesh to carry the real you around. Others coming after you will have the same or similar appearance.”

Satisfied with the explanation, Adam turned his attention to his surroundings. This place was similar to but completely different from Heaven, his original home.

“What is this place?” he asked, walking around, touching everything in wonder.

“You are in the Garden of Eden. I have made this place for you to enjoy and to maintain for Me on Earth,” said the Voice of Almighty God Whom the Man had always known and loved.

Adam turned toward a creature with four legs that seemed to follow him everywhere he went. “Hello, little fellow. What are you?” he asked, hoping to get to know the creature a little better.

“Adam.” He heard his name for the first time in his Earth-suit. He immediately turned to face the voice of His Father and Creator.

“Oh!” Adam exclaimed. “I had almost forgotten my name.” He smiled. “Yes, Father,” he answered, growing accustomed to the voice coming from his face.

“Adam,” continued God. “You must give every living creature a name. You have dominion over all the Earth, over all creation on the Earth and in the sea. Whatever you name something, that will be the name of it,” said God the Father.

“Name every creature?” Adam repeated to himself. “Father, that’s a big job. Are You certain I am capable of accomplishing this task?” he asked as he stood and talked with the Lord God.

“Yes, Adam, you are more than capable. I have equipped you with wisdom and knowledge concerning everything on the Earth,” explained God. “You are called Adam because I have made you the Father of all living,” He concluded.

Adam took all this in as he walked through this place where his life on Earth began. Eden was what God had named this place. Eden, Adam thought, what a pleasant name.

Adam looked at the little creature standing beside him. He pondered what he would call this species of animal. A thought formed in his mind. Hmmm, this creature was an Earth creature and did not live in the water. He had a long face and pointed ears. Fur covered its entire body. It would breed from its own kind to make more of its kind.

And it will be a friend to Man just as God was also a friend to Man in a different way, Adam decided.

“You are a dog, Man’s best friend. You will be called Erasmus,” he said to the animal, bending down to pat the animal on its head.

“Thank you, sir,” the little dog said back to him.

Adam continued throughout Eden, giving names to all the living creatures. He was awed by the beauty on the Earth, the beauty his Creator had created to be enjoyed. As he walked among the animals and the plant life, having conversations with the animals, God the Father, the Son, and the Spirit observed Adam’s actions.
