Sassy Cocktail Sauce

Homemade cocktail sauce has a fresher flavor than the bottled stuff, and you can flavor it to suit yourself. I lean toward an abundance of horseradish, but you can follow your own whim.

MAKES ABOUT 1 CUP


1 cup ketchup or chili sauce

1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

Dash of hot pepper sauce, or to taste

2 heaping tablespoons prepared horseradish

2 teaspoons fresh lemon juice


In a small bowl, stir all ingredients together until well combined. Cover and refrigerate at least 1 hour, until chilled. Stir before serving.
