Liquid Rooibos African Black Soap Recipe

––––––––

Once the Rooibos [red tea] is poured into the container with the African black soap, it’ll turn a mahogany brown color. If you don’t have Rooibos tea you can substitute any type of tea for this recipe. Soap liquefied with jasmine green tea and most other types will turn black due to oxidation. It doesn’t make it more of less effective, it’s just what happens.

Ingredients:

1 Tablespoon African Black soap

2 ounces Rooibos tea

Equipment:

Glass container for microwave or double boiler

Funnel [optional]

Container:

2-ounce bottle [durable enough to withstand heat]

Instructions:

Measure the soap and add it to your bottle.

Boil water in a glass container.

Pour slowly into the bottle. Fill almost to the top.

Cover bottle.

The soap will dissolve within a short time – usually less than an hour. It’s best to let it sit for several hours or overnight. The liquefied soap is better to use at room temperature.

Shake well before using.

Store in a cool, dry place or in your refrigerator. Label with a use-by date of 7 days.
