BANANAS FOSTER
1 cup (2 sticks) butter
1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
Brandy
3 Bananas, sliced
Vanilla ice Cream
In a medium pan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the brown sugar, stirring constantly until dissolved.
When the ingredients have combined and the mixture is very hot, carefully deglaze the pan with 1 tablespoon of brandy. Add the bananas and cook for 1 minute. Scoop the ice cream into bowls and spoon the warm mixture over the ice cream.
Note: Other fruits can be used as well, such as apples, pears, mango, or peaches.
Makes 6 to 8 servings.
