Spicy Cheese Pita Crisps

This is a perfect accompaniment to soup. If you love spicy-hot, you might want to increase the amount of cayenne pepper.

4 cups shredded cheddar cheese

1 ½ cups butter, softened

4 cup grated Romano Cheese

½ teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

1 teaspoon minced garlic

1 teaspoon paprika

¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper

5 pita bread rounds

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. In a large bowl combine the cheddar cheese, butter, Romano cheese, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, paprika, and cayenne pepper. Mix until creamy. Spread the cheese mixture on one side of each pita round and cut each into 4 wedges. Arrange the wedges on a baking sheet and bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until golden brown and crisp.

Makes 10 servings.

NOTE: If you have any leftover spread, save it to use on French bread.
