Eye Injuries

Ragged strips of flesh clung to his cheeks below the missing eyes

 

She stared at me through two sightless holes where her eyes had been

 

His right eye hung limply against his cheek

 

His thumbs found the sockets and pressed hard

 

Frenzied fingers dug in until the eyes burst and the black fluid squished

 

The object pierced her eye before she could even scream

 

The rusty hedge clippers cut through the blue of her eyes, then snapped shut

 

His eyes burst like two balloons, weeping black and red

 

Punctured and bleeding, his eye was a raw ruin that oozed down his cheek like a runny egg
