Vermin

The hairy spiders crawled over her naked body

One bite from those tiny jaws meant agony

It grabbed my skin between black mandibles and chewed

Gnashing, gnawing mandibles knifed into his skin

The bug bites itched and burned like mad

The crawling carpet of army ants marched relentlessly toward us

Poison dripped from the spider's clacking fangs

In a panic, she brushed at the bloodsucking leeches covering her legs

The insect laid its eggs in his brain while he slept

The worms oozed out of him like spaghetti from hell

Centipedes‌—‌as fat as my fist and long as my arm‌—‌carpeted the jungle

Lice crawled over her scalp like dandruff from hell

Maggots had made short work of the corpse

The air was black with the buzzing of flies

A fat green fly regarded me with dull red eyes

The defiant rat regarded me with beady red eyes

The hungry rats swarmed over the body

Rats gnawed his mangled limbs

With a terrified squeak, the rat fled

The rat's fur was filthy, crawling with disease

The sewer tunnel was choked by a hideous horde of ravenous rats
