Werewolves and Other Shapeshifters

The moon was his mistress now

The werewolf growled, long and low

The moon beckoned her to join the pack, to run with them under the starry night

The chase was only exceeded by the thrill of fangs tearing into warm meat

The shapeshifter was a mix of animal and human, embodying all the worst qualities of each

Bristly black hair crowned a face so savage, even the dogs fled

The werewolf wore the moon's curse like chains around his heart

Every full moon he swore it was the last time

Her skin grew a coat of silken hair that grew longer and faster as the moon called her name

Her mouth became a muzzle of yellow fangs and snapping jaws

The werewolf lapped hot blood and howled at the moon

The beast's snout picked up my scent and the chase was on

As the belly of the Moon Mother swelled, so too did her children's restlessness to kill

The pack followed the scent of her blood and called for her to join them

Panting, fur against fur, they mated and howled their love to all who could hear

The moon madness was upon him and his mind became very small and very hungry

There was joy in the gnashing of teeth and tearing of flesh

The pleasures of the hunt soon gave way to the grisly feast

She ran him down and sank her sharp teeth into his neck, claiming him as her own

The snapping jaws buried themselves in my neck, then withdrew, and I felt a rough tongue lap my wound

A bloodstained beast with yellow eyes watched me from the forest's edge

The first transformation was long and painful, but they grew quicker and easier with time

His beastly transformation filled me with awe and dread

The lure of the moon called her like a lover

The bite healed so quickly, he knew he was cursed

The werewolf glowered at me with slavering jaws and murderous mouth

The pack took up the call and soon not one, but a dozen terrible shapes loped behind me

The awful hunger to kill, to tear and destroy, came upon him now

The shifter was an insane hybrid of man and beast that walked on two legs

The fur sprouted on him, thick and musky with the wolf-scent

The beast's elongated muzzle bared teeth of savage yellow
