A J Walker grew up in Bozeman, Montana. In his youth, writing fiction and becoming an author was a distant dream, something a young dyslexic didn’t think was achievable. A J was diagnosed with dyslexia at a young age. He struggled through most of his education with an elementary school reading comprehension level. When he was sixteen, A J found neurofeedback therapy. With the help of this new technology, he quickly learned how to read and write to the level of his high school peers. Before striving to become an author, A J’s love for whitewater kayaking and the outdoors led him to study at the University of Montana. In his university years, A J worked as a wildland firefighter and graduated with a bachelor's degree in the Science of Forestry. Currently, A J lives along the Yellowstone River near Columbus, Montana, with his wife and their dogs.
