Chapter 8

It was almost closing time, and Rebecca was still a no show. Delilah was disappointed. She felt the strong desire to put her supposed friend in her place.

Christian nodded to the windows as he came around the counter. He kept coming, leaning into her as he pressed his mouth to hers. “We could just show her that I’m taken,” he murmured against her lips before taking a slow taste of her mouth.

She spun him around, leaning into him as she deepened the kiss. Only a few hours since the last time they had made love and she needed him desperately.

Delilah had no problem showing Rebecca that Christian was spoken for.

The door opened as she felt Christian’s desire, his hands tangling in her hair as he nipped her bottom lip.

“Better stop that. We’ll be home soon, and I have a few things I want to do to you before you get back to that.” His breath was husky, and she could smell his lust. It was a rich heady scent that made her a little crazed.

Rebecca cleared her throat. “You finally manned up and asked her out?”

Christian sighed as he leaned his head back to glare at Rebecca. “Told you I wasn’t interested in you. This shouldn’t come as a surprise.”

“No.” Rebecca sighed and looked out the window. “You two seem happy at least. Hey, do you know where Lance is?”

Delilah looked away, chewing her lip.

Christian pulled Delilah closer. “He attacked Delilah last night. She shot him. He’s gone.”

“I’m sorry. He left me some creepy message. I didn’t know until I got home, after…” She glanced away. “After I had to go push boundaries with Christian. Anyway, he said he was coming after you. When I couldn’t get in touch with you, I started getting worried.”

“I’m fine, but Christian is officially off limits. He’s my mate, and I won’t play nice if you try that same bullshit you tried last night.”

One pale eyebrow arched as Rebecca smirked. “Don’t worry. I was trying to push him into action with you. He made it clear long ago he wanted nothing to do with me. I probably should have tried another route.”

She turned and marched out the door as Delilah’s mouth fell open. “Is she for real?”

Christian shrugged. “She doesn’t seem to know what she wants. I’m going to close up, and then we can go home. One question though.” He stole a quick kiss. “My apartment or yours?”

“Yours, if you don’t mind. It already feels like home.”

Christian cleared the table while Delilah walked back to their room. They had decided his apartment was the best choice. Bigger, and more comfortable.

She pulled her clothes from her body, anticipation making her hot. His shirt landed beside hers as his hands came around her waist. His mouth brushed over her shoulder before nibbling up her neck.

His velvet voice teased her. “Tell me if I do something wrong.”

She let out a husky laugh. “Oh, Christian, that you’re concerned you’ll do it wrong tells me you won’t. You aren’t out to please yourself, but to please me. I’m confident you’ll do just that.”

“Oh, Del, just watching you unravel gets me off, and you feel like heaven.”

She turned in his arms and opened his jeans, sliding them down his hips with his boxers. “I love you, Christian.”

“Love you too,” he murmured before backing her to the bed and laying her down.
