In this part . . .

Catholics are law-abiding people. We begin this part by explaining God’s laws and the Church’s rules, both of which its members must follow. We then focus on the most famous divine laws — the Ten Commandments — and discuss why adhering to them is so crucial.

But being good requires more than just avoiding evil; just obeying the Ten Commandments isn’t enough. We also have a moral duty to do good and be virtuous. In Chapter 13, we examine good habits every Catholic should cultivate and seven deadly sins to actively fight against. Finally, in Chapter 14 we look at some controversial contemporary issues (real hot-button topics such as abortion, war, and capital punishment) and discuss the Church’s commitment to her convictions.
