Playwright/actor/producer Linda Griffiths has written, acted, and developed theatre for over three decades. Her plays include Maggie and Pierre, O.D. On Paradise, Jessica, The Darling Family, Alien Creature, and Age of Arousal. She has been the recipient of numerous awards for acting and writing, including five Dora Mavor Moore Awards, two Chalmers Canadian Play Awards, a Betty Mitchell Award, and has twice been nominated for the Governor General’s Literary Award. As an actor she’s received an ACTRA Award for her work on Empire Inc. and Los Angeles’s Actors Guild of America award for her performance in John Sayles’s Lianna. Griffiths’s company Duchess Productions has developed much of her work including her newest solo show The Last Dog of War. Her most recent works are HeavenAbove/HeavenBelow, a sequel to the The Darling Family, and Games. Griffiths received the Barker Fairley Visitorship at U of T in 2011 and was awarded the Playwrights Guild of Canada’s Lifetime Award in 2013.
