#55 WHEN IN DOUBT, ORDER BREAKFAST

Breakfast is one of the easiest meals to make keto. Of course, you’ll have to resist the carb-heavy options, like pancakes and waffles, but eggs, bacon, sausage, cheese, butter, and avocado—all the main breakfast staples—are excellent choices.

If you’re not sure what to order, but you happen to be somewhere that serves breakfast foods, order breakfast! It doesn’t matter what time of the day it is. Eggs and vegetables provide easily digestible protein, healthy fats, and fiber whether it’s breakfast, lunch, or dinner.

There are a lot of keto breakfast options, but an omelet is a great place to start. You can build on the basics—eggs and cheese—by adding bacon, broccoli, spinach, onions, mushrooms, or sausage. Top it off with fresh sliced avocado and you have a filling, perfectly keto meal. And if omelets aren’t really your thing, you can get some over-easy eggs with a side of bacon and some avocado slices.

One of the best things you can do for yourself when following a keto diet is lose the mindset that certain foods are only meant for certain times of the day. This doesn’t just apply to eating breakfast for dinner either: If you have leftovers from dinner, you can eat them for your first meal, even if they aren’t technically “breakfast foods.”
