#93 ACCOUNT FOR EXERCISE

If you’re doing intense exercise—or you recently started exercising after an extended period of inactivity—it’s possible that your hunger is a result of that extra activity and calorie burn. This doesn’t mean that you should automatically up your food intake, but consider whether or not you’re getting enough food.

When you calculated your calorie and macronutrient needs for your keto lifestyle, did you factor in the exercise you’re doing? Did you start your keto journey with mild exercise and now you’re doing more intense exercise as you become more physically fit? Have you built more lean muscle mass? All these things can increase your calorie burn and leave you feeling hungry.

If any of these situations apply to you, recalculate your calorie needs, factoring in that exercise. See if anything changes.
