Patti Giggans is the executive director at Peace Over Violence, a sexual assault, domestic violence, child abuse, and youth violence prevention center headquartered in Los Angeles. She has worked in the movement to end violence for as long as she can remember. An activist, advocate, and author, Giggans is the recipient of The California Peace Prize and is a Durfee Foundation Stanton Fellow.
Barrie Levy is a licensed clinical social worker in private practice and a faculty member in the Department of Social Welfare, School of Public Affairs, University of California, Los Angeles. She is the editor of Dating Violence: Young Women in Danger and author of In Love and In Danger: A Teen’s Guide for Breaking Free of Abusive Relationships and Women and Violence. During forty years of activism to stop domestic and sexual violence, she has founded and directed four organizations and won many awards in recognition of her groundbreaking work.
