Tips on How to Practice
Here are a few fun suggestions on how to practice your face off (especially if you're feeling a bit overwhelmed):
- Make flashcards to memorize zodiac symbols (page 21) and planetary symbols (pages 31–32). Practice alone or with a study buddy. Quiz yourself. Once you get all of 'em correct, reward yourself with a cookie or a glass of wine! Hooray! Do it again. Repeat! (However, once you get really good at this, you might want to switch to carrot sticks and water . . . otherwise, things might escalate into a sugar-fueled drunken orgy.)
- Invite a friend over for coffee, brunch, dinner, or whatever you want to do. Pull up their natal chart. Look for their Sun, Moon, and rising signs on the chart. Practice explaining what these mean. (It's totally okay to use this book for reference if you can't remember!)
- Pick one of your favorite celebrities or a historical figure that you love. Find out their birthday, time of birth, and place of birth. Pull up their natal chart. Look for their Sun, Moon, and rising signs on the chart. What do these mean? Make an interpretation. (Again, it's totally okay to use this book for reference if you can't remember!)
- Start an astrology book club. Meet up with friends once a week. Brew some tea. Bust out some snacks. Read a short section of this book . . . and then discuss!
- Host a Dinner with the Stars party at your place! Whip up a feast. Or make it a potluck. Have a fun dinner party, read people's charts, chat about astrology, and practice your skills. I hosted one of these parties awhile back, and it was so much fun. I made a menu and music playlist inspired by the zodiac.
See? Memorizing symbols and practicing astrology doesn't have to be boring!
