We Owe It All to Them

ALTHOUGH MY HIGH SCHOOL DAYS took place in the sixties, Radnor High was very much like the Rydell High of Grease. There were no shootings, no switchblades, no social media. The big decisions were who to take to the prom and how to skirt around the teachers’ rules and have fun. People always ask why Grease has remained so popular through the years. I say it’s because it captures the nostalgic feeling of a more innocent time, it had terrific music, and it had a one-of-a-kind cast. In the end, we owe it all to Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey, who originated the phenomenon of Grease.
