Simeon’s eyes burned with rage as she saw Ansley and Davis in an embrace. He promised her exclusivity, but from the way he had his arms wrapped around Ansley’s waist was too familiar. They looked too comfortable.
She fumed. To think she invited him out to this event, and once again, he ends up with Ansley and not with her. This was so embarrassing. She was there entertaining a potential client from the Atlanta Falcons, and now she was leaving him to fend for himself with groupies and photogs while she stormed the venue looking for Davis’ trifling behind.
She pushed her way through the club. If Davis was going to be a coward and not tell Ansley the truth, then she was more than willing to lay it all out for her to see. Simeon refused to be mistreated, after all she did for him, and she would not be ignored.
Just as she was within arm’s reach, she saw Ryan, Ansley’s ex-boyfriend approach. She paused after seeing the exchange. Simeon knew how Ansley felt about Ryan and if he was there, Davis would be a non-factor.
Simeon looked over her shoulder to check and see if her client was still waiting for her.
He was there, but the scowl on his face let her know that he was not pleased that she abandoned him. She held up her index finger to let him know she would be right back.
Turning back, her view was obstructed by a passerby, but as the sea of patrons thinned out, she realized Davis and Ansley were gone. She looked and saw Ryan, and went to catch up with him, hoping that Ansley was on his arm.
“Ryan!” she called out. “Ryan, hey. Uh—I thought I saw Ansley with you. Do you know where she went?”
“Hey Simeon, right? Sorry it’s been a minute,” he said. “How are you?”
“Good, um, Ansley?” she said placing her hands on her hips.
“Oh my bad. She left with some dude. Is that her boyfriend?”
“Not if I can help it,” Simeon said as she hurried toward the exit. Once outside she was met with the same fate that Davis had placed her in once again—alone.
