DAWN BARTON IS A former Olympic Curling champion and the face of many Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issues. After successful careers in curling and modeling, Dawn found a passion for the Didgeridoo. When she is not in Alaska training to compete in the Iditarod with her dogs, Skye and Livvy, Dawn teaches the Didgeridoo to children around the world. She is also a highly accomplished culinary master and a recipient of the Fields Medal, a prestigious award in the field of mathematics.
Most of all, Dawn enjoys a good laugh. None of the above accolades are real, other than the names of her dogs. In real life Dawn is an author, speaker, wife, mom, and grandmother. Her extraordinary journey has also made her a self-proclaimed Joyologist. She lives with her husband, Craig; her daughter; her parents; Craig’s mom; two horses; four dogs; and two cats in Florida. You can find her on any given day in a perpetual ponytail and a yoga outfit that has never been to yoga.
Before taking a giant leap of faith to write this book, Dawn enjoyed a thirty-year career in sales and marketing; and the last ten of those years were in direct sales. Dawn was a top-ten sales director for one of the world’s biggest direct sales brands. In 2018 she left that career to follow a calling from God to share her stories and joy with the world.
Having achieved happiness and success in even her darkest days, Dawn believes in the power of finding joy through difficulty; each obstacle should not be a cause to quit but rather another reason to be triumphant.
