Every day, stand guard at the door of your mind—do not let in anything that doesn’t serve you. Would you let an angry stranger into your house? Thoughts, images, and feelings can be just as damaging, so be sure to invite in what contributes positively to your journey, not what pulls you down.
This may seem simple, but if people realized the powerful repercussions that information, thoughts, and feelings can have on their lives, they wouldn’t hesitate to do it. Information can profoundly affect your feelings, your choices, the chances you take (or stop yourself from taking), and therefore your future and your quality of life! When you guard your mind you ensure that you only invite in what serves you. You avoid being guided into negativity by fear and other people’s worries.
As a human being alive in today’s world, you are constantly bombarded with information of various kinds, so this is more important than ever. When you can be discerning with what you take in, you can uplift your life’s experiences more than you might believe is possible. Including your love life.
To do so, ask yourself how something makes you feel—whether it’s a TV show, a book, a social media meme, a conversation, or a commercial. Does it feel icky, heavy, fearful, contracting? Then let it go, don’t engage. What lies down that particular road is being shown to you by what you’re feeling.
Go with what feels light, effervescent, glowing, positive, bubbly, joyous, romantic, thrilling, juicy, happy, and you will notice more and more of this showing up in your life! When you learn to use your emotions as a compass, they will never steer you wrong.
XOXO
