We had a wonderful honeymoon, if staying in the penthouse of a hotel is you’re dream honeymoon. We had sex multiple times during the day and a half we were there. The only draw back was the fact that I was sore from spreading my legs to make room for Anthony’s hips. He took notice when I was getting on the plane that I was walking funny and he made it a point that if I needed to go to the doctor for the soreness he’ll take me. I knew that he would take me to the doctor if I needed it, but I knew that it was only a bit of soreness that would go away in the next few days.
Nothing major happens after our wedding until Luke goes on spring break. Wednesday of his spring break we will all head to the court house and finalize Anthony’s adoption, Luke want’s to take Anthony’s last name and I want him to keep his dad’s name. I guess it will be up to the judge.
The day finally comes and Luke and I meet Anthony at the courthouse, he’s helping out the patrol guys while school is out for spring break. He’s in his uniform looking sexy as always when we go into the courthouse. We hold hands going into the court room and during the proceedings. As the proceeding is coming to an end the judge says, “Mr. and Mrs. Sharp are we going to change Luke’s last name? Or are we going to leave it with what it says on the birth certificate listing his biological father’s last name?”
Anthony explains to the judge that Luke wants to have the same name as Anthony and I want him to keep his biological father’s name.
After hearing the explanation the judge says, “Son, what do you say to us hyphenating your last name to represent the two wonderful men in your life? Your father gave his life for this country and Mr. Sharp here is willing to love you like his own son.”
“Yeah, sure sir.” Luke responds to the judge who cracks a grin. He’s not an overbearing judge, he’s very friendly and keeps Luke at ease by not making him say judge or your honor.
“Okay. So it’s settled Luke will be known from here on out as Luke Reynolds-Sharp.” The judge says which is very agreeable with me. He keeps his fathers name and gets to carry his step fathers name.
Luke starts using his new last name almost as soon as the ink is dry on the paperwork. He’s so happy that he has both his daddy’s names. He’s been calling Anthony daddy for months so it’s already second nature for him to do it.
I’ve set up with Johnathon’s mom that she’s going to spend the summer with us so that I have help with Luke while the baby is still young. This will also give her and Luke some much needed time together. She’s excited to see Luke along with the little one. Johnathon was her only son, so me giving Luke a brother or sister is something new for her, and me.
It’s finally the middle of May, and Johnathon’s mom is coming in this week. I’ve been busy putting the baby’s room together. Anthony has built all the furniture when it came in and put it where I designated it to go. We’ve got everything ready for the baby and I’m only adding the final touches with making sure that there are diapers, wipes, powder, and clothes ready to go in the baby’s room. Anthony has a diaper bag in his cruiser already packed for just in case I go into labor while he’s at work. He also has one packed and in his truck ready to go if I go into labor in the middle of the night.
We’re prepared for everything, so Anthony says. I just saw my Ob two days ago and he says the baby is in a perfect position for delivery, but I wasn’t dilated nor was my cervix thinned out. The doctor scheduled me to see him in another week. The baby isn’t due for another two weeks, but statistics show that women who have had one child early in life tend to have the second before full term. I’m concerned that I’ll go into labor before my due date and my biggest fear is that I’ll go into labor without someone here with me.
My due date is before school lets out so Anthony will be working at the school if I go into labor at the house while he’s at work. This is one of the reasons why Johnathon’s mom is coming in early. If I go into labor I need someone to get me to the hospital, because I am not having this baby here at the house!
