Yield: 25 truffles | Prep Time: 40 minutes | Chill Time: 2 hours
If you’re looking for a party favor, a holiday gift, or just a sweet treat to offer your guests after dinner, you’ve found it! Around the holidays, I gather my girlfriends to have a truffle-making, wine-drinking get-together. We then package them up and give them to the mailman, neighbors, dog walkers, and so on.
INGREDIENTS
1½ cups dark chocolate chips
½ cup heavy whipping cream
1 cup Nutella
2 cups milk chocolate melting chips
2 cups chopped candy-coated honey-roasted or butter toffee peanuts
DIRECTIONS
- Put the dark chocolate chips in a large heatproof glass bowl.
- Heat the heavy whipping cream in a medium saucepan over medium heat for 2 to 3 minutes. When hot, pour over the chocolate in the bowl and whisk to combine. Add the Nutella and continue to whisk until incorporated. Place in the refrigerator for 2 hours to set.
- Once set, roll the mixture into 25 balls and set aside.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the milk chocolate on 50% power in 30-second increments, stirring in between each, until melted. Dip each truffle into the chocolate using a fork and roll them in a bowl with the chopped nuts.
