Mason Jar Trifle

Yield: 1 individual trifle | Prep Time: 10 minutes | Chill Time: 2 hours

I have a very distinct memory of making my first trifle. It was Victorian Day in middle school, and each student volunteered to make or bring in things that would help bring the day together. I didn’t know what a trifle was, but when I saw a picture of many ingredients stacked together, I wanted to learn how to make one. I should have known back then that I would be up for any culinary challenge (how do you get those layers to be so perfect?), and when given the opportunity to cook or bake for a crowd, I’m the first to raise my hand.

INGREDIENTS

6 ladyfingers

½ cup raspberry jam

1 cup thawed whipped topping

DIRECTIONS

  1. Place 3 ladyfingers on the bottom of a 12-ounce Mason jar.
  2. Add the raspberry jam.
  3. Add the 3 remaining ladyfingers on top.
  4. Spoon on the whipped topping to finish the trifle.
  5. Place in the fridge to allow the ladyfingers to absorb the jam, about 2 hours.
