Ingredients (6 servings)
3 tablespoons butter
2 pounds cubed lamb stew meat
1 pinch of caraway seeds
1-pound onion, sliced
2 teaspoons paprika
1 garlic clove, minced
1 tablespoon lemon zest
1 (6 ounces) can tomato paste
1 (10 ½ ounces) can beef consommé
1 (10 ounces) package broad egg noodles, cooked
Preparation
Sauté the meat, onion, caraway seeds, and paprika with butter in a large pot until the meat is brown and onion is translucent. Stir in the lemon zest and garlic, then sauté for 1 minute. Add the beef consommé and tomato paste. Put on the lid and continue cooking for about 1 ½ hours on a simmer. Boil the egg noodles in salted water in a cooking pot for 8 minutes, then drain. Serve the goulash with egg noodles.
