Ingredients (12 servings)
Pastry
2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
½ teaspoon salt
8 ounces cream cheese
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
½ cup granulated sugar
Filling
½ pound freshly ground walnuts
1 cup of sugar
½ cup of boiled milk
⅛ cup butter, melted
Preparation
Mix the milk with walnuts, sugar, and butter in a saucepan and cook for almost 5 minutes. Mix the all-purpose flour with salt, cream cheese, butter, and sugar in a mixer until it makes a smooth dough. Cover and refrigerate the dough for 2 hours. Divide the dough into 4 parts. At 375 degrees F, preheat your oven. Spread each portion into a ⅛-inch-thick sheet. Cut each sheet into 16 small squares. Add ½ teaspoon walnut filling at one corner of each square. Roll each square from one corner to another, and then pinch both the side of the rolls. Place the rolls on a baking sheet and bake them for 14 minutes. Serve.
