Originally derived from MediaWiki with a base of XHTML instead of wikitext and enhanced editing and search capabilities, the latest versions of the MindTouch platform allow users to integrate web services and external applications to extend the wiki’s capabilities and enable data mashups. The platform is based on a open source project originally named DekiWiki that is supported by a large and active developer community. It has also been extended to provide the core for a range of products that make up an enterprise level collaboration platform.
