Author Biographies

Ronald Deibert is an associate professor of political science and director of the Citizen Lab at the Munk Centre for International Studies, University of Toronto. He is a cofounder and principal investigator of the OpenNet Initiative and the Information Warfare Monitor.

Colin Maclay is the Managing Director of the Berkman Center for Internet and Society at Harvard University. He works on new media, institutions, and international development, and helped start the Global Network Initiative.

John Palfrey is a professor of law at Harvard Law School and a faculty codirector of the Berkman Center for Internet and Society at Harvard University. He is a co-principal investigator of the OpenNet Initiative.

Hal Roberts is a fellow at the Berkman Center for Internet and Society. He studies a range of issues related to the control and flow of information online, including surveillance, filtering circumvention, and digital media.

Rafal Rohozinski is a principal with the SecDev Group and CEO of Psiphon, Inc. He is a co-principal investigator of the OpenNet Initiative and the Information Warfare Monitor.

Nart Villeneuve is the CTO of Psiphon, Inc., and the Psiphon Research Fellow at the Citizen Lab at the Munk Centre for International Studies, University of Toronto.

Ethan Zuckerman is a senior researcher at the Berkman Center for Internet and Society, where he focuses on digital media in the developing world. He is the cofounder of the international citizen media community Global Voices.
