1 When the hypocrites come to you, they said, "We witness that surely you are Allah’s messenger." And Allah knows surely you are his messenger, and Allah witnesses surely the hypocrites are liars. 2 They took their oath as a shield, so they prevented [others] from the way of Allah. Surely evil is what they were doing. 3 That is because they believed, then they became infidels, so it was sealed on their hearts so that they would not understand. 4 And when you see them, their bodies please you; and if they speak, then you listen to their sayings as if they are blocks of wood propped up. They think that every shout is against them. They are the enemies, so beware of them. Allah waged war against them. How perverted are they? 5 And when it is said to them, "Come, the messenger of Allah will ask forgiveness for you. They turn their heads aside. And you see them prevent [others], and they are proud." 6 It is the same for them whether you ask forgiveness for them or if you do not ask forgiveness for them, Allah will not forgive them. Surely Allah will not guide the transgressing people. 7 They are those who say, "Do not spend on those who are with the messenger of Allah until they disperse." And to Allah the treasuries of the heavens and the earth, but the hypocrites do not understand. 8 They say, "If we return to the city, the mightier will surely drive out the despised from it." And the might to Allah and his messenger and to the believers, but the hypocrites do not know. 9 O you who have believed, let not your money and your children distract you from the remembrance of Allah. And whoever does that, so those are the losers. 10 And spend from what we provided you before death comes to any one of you. So he will say, "My lord, were it not that you had delayed me to a near time, so then I will give alms, and I will be among the good." 11 And Allah will not delay a soul when its appointed time comes. And Allah is aware of what you do.
