Writing poetry can act as a self-care tool that turns your emotions and pain into art. CBD can help you both access and process your emotions, and it will help you let your guard down and write powerful poetry.

How to:

  1. Sit somewhere cozy. Self-soothe with CBD. Most people come to poetry to express their emotions, so acknowledge what you are feeling. What’s happening in your body? Is your chest a knot of pain? Or are you so happy that you feel like you’re floating?
  2. Take out your pen and paper. Begin writing offline to avoid the stress of screens. Don’t worry about rhyming. Just start freestyling. This poem is just for you. It can be as weird, dark, or obsessive as you like. The goal is to work through your emotions and turn them into art. If you want to clean up the poem later, do so in an edit session.
  3. If you want to share your poem, use some CBD to calm your nerves, then give or read the poem to a trusted friend or loved one.
