Stop Racing Thoughts

How does it help?

Don’t let stress bleed into the free time that could be used for relaxing. Here you’ll couple CBD with a deep breathing exercise to stop racing thoughts—intrusive, repetitive, anxious thoughts that make it hard to focus on anything else. This will lower your anxiety levels and allow you to be mindfully present in the moment, a form of mental self-care.

How to:

  1. Take CBD and sit somewhere quiet. Practice the fourfold breathe, which is fabulous for calming anxiety. Breathe in for 4 counts, hold for 4, exhale for 4, and hold for 4. Repeat for several rounds.
  2. After a few cycles, practice deep breathing at your own pace. Mentally say the phrase, “I am safe, I trust the process of life.” Keep this mantra with you at all times, and when racing thoughts about a touchy subject arise, take control. Replace the intrusive words with the kind mantra. You are safe. Everything will work out the way it should. Return to your breath, and know that you’re practicing mental self-care by choosing to remain calm.
