Support a Local Candidate

How does it help?

Better understand your local politics by researching neighborhood politicians and helping one who speaks to you. Supporting a candidate is rewarding work that helps you feel involved in your community, but it can be trying at times. Keep CBD around for when your mind needs a reboot.

How to:

  1. Find a local candidate who inspires you. Look up your district’s US representative, or go smaller. If you don’t know where to start, look up an issue that’s important to you, which can be as big as gender equality or as local as land use in your hometown.
  2. Contact the campaign to see how you can help. For some people, donating money is easy, but local candidates also need people to help make phone calls, go door to door, or help them in others ways that require more time and attention.
  3. Politics are stressful, so before you sign up to volunteer, take some CBD and use it to self-soothe as needed. Then go out and tell your friends about a candidate who inspires you, and feel empowered to help someone you believe in.
