The International Guild of Knot Tyers

The IGKT is an association of people—expert and novice, from all walks of life—who share an interest in knots and knotting techniques. The Guild was founded in 1982 and is now a UK registered charity dedicated to “furthering interest in practical, recreational and theoretical aspects of knotting.” Publications include the quarterly newsletter Knotting Matters. Members are a friendly crowd, with a worldwide membership, one-quarter of which is located within the US.

You can find out more from the Guild’s website: www.igkt.net

Geoffrey Budworth was a founder member in 1982 of the International Guild of Knot Tyers and continues to play a leading role on the world’s knotting scene. For his expertise in connection with knotted clues found and preserved at scenes of crime he has been called “the father of forensic knotting.”

Jason Dalton has spent most of his recreational life outdoors and is a member of the Blue Ridge Mountain Rescue Group (BRMRG). He has taught numerous knot-tying and pioneer skills classes to everyone from rescue workers to Boy Scouts.
